Hopper Natural Red Food Colour
Hopper Natural Red food colour is popular for themes like Valentines Day, red velvet, sports clubs and school celebrations. The natural red tones are particularly affected by heat, so use in icing rather than within the baked goods.
The colours are derived using a water extraction process, without the use of solvents or chemicals. They do not contain any artificial functional additives or preservatives, are gluten free and do not contain dairy, egg or nuts of any type.
Our colour recipes are specifically formulated only for Hopper. There are other ‘natural’ colours in the market, but none with the potency and truly clean label as Hopper.

For best results, please consider these tips:
• Keep refrigerated or frozen to retain vibrancy
• Always shake the bottle before using.
• As a guide: 250g pure white icing + 1/2 teaspoon natural colour
• Add to perfectly white icing base for the brightest and most accurate colours. Butter is yellow, so a yellow base will affect the final colour.
• High amounts of fat will affect the vibrancy, alter the dosage as required to achieve your colour.
• Our natural colours are best used to decorate cakes, not be baked into the batter – the combination of batter ingredients plus heat causes the colour to fade dramatically.
• Perfect to use in jelly, frozen treats, raw desserts, all forms of icing and buttercream.
